Expressing future in Chinese is simple…

<Wǒ yào qù.>

I WILL GO.  

去。

<Wǒ huì qù.>

I MIGHT GO.  

      <yào>

To express future, we usually use  <yào>, which also means TO WANT…

It seems logical. We are going to do things that we want to do…

我明年去日本。  

<Wǒ míngnián yào qù Rìběn.>

I next year yao to go (to) Japan.

I AM GOING TO JAPAN NEXT YEAR.

 

要不要来?   

<Tā yào-buyao lái?>    

He yao not yao to come?   

IS HE GOING TO COME?

 

他今天不要来。  

<Tā jīntiān búyào lái.>

He today not yao to come.   

HE IS NOT GOING TO COME TODAY.

   快要 <kuài yào>

We use 快要 <kuài yào> [fast_yao] when we want to say that something is right about to happen.

 

快要下雨了。  

<Kuàiyào xiàyǔ le.> 

Fast (soon) yao to rain le.  

IT’S GONNA RAIN SOON.

 

冬天快要来了。  

<Dōngtiān kuàiyào lái le.>    

Winter fast (soon) yao to come le.    

WINTER IS COMING SOON.

 

快要冬天了。  

<Kuàiyào dōngtiān le.>   

WINTER IS COMING SOON.

      <huì>

You might know  <huì> in the meanings TO BE ABLE TO and GATHERING.

Besides these meanings, we use it to express probable future, or a presumption.

 

我明年去日本。 

<Wǒ míngnián huì qù Rìběn.> 

I next year hui to go (to) Japan.  

NEXT YEAR I MIGHT GO TO JAPAN.

 

会不会喜欢? 

<Tā huì-buhui xǐhuan?>

She hui not hui to like (it)?  

WILL SHE LIKE IT?

 

我想他不来。 

<Wǒ xiǎng tā bú huì lái.>

I think he not hui to come.  

I THINK HE WILL NOT COME.
